Savannah turns 1!

So, it has been quite some time since my last post so I am going to work backwards here. Most recently Savannah turned 1 year old. HOLY COW!! We did have a big party for her (on Sat. the 10th), all the grandparents came into town, one of the aunts and we had tons of friends and their kids come over. We did it up Shack style, lots of BBQ and (some) beer. The party started at 11 after Savannah's first nap, which she decided not to take. I guess she was just too excited to sleep. Below are some pictures of her big day. Because she didn't take a nap, by the time we got around to eating and the cake she was a grumpy mess so she wouldn't have it any other way but to sit in my lap. It took her a few minutes to warm up to the cake but once she figured out she could eat...game on! She ended up covered in chocolate from her nose to her toes (literally!). We had so much fun celebrating her birthday. On her actually birthday, September 11, we took her to a 9/11 memorial at a cemetery near by. They had posted 2977 flags, one for each person who died that day 10 years prior. So, we got some pictures of her frolicking in the flags, our little Patriot Day baby! OH yeah, and we also did some professional pictures. (I am sure you can guess which one that is!). I can't believe how fast she is growing. As some of you have seen in videos, she is a walking machine. She is doing her best to run and very rarely crawls anymore. She is starting to use her sign language (kindof and in her own way), she says mama and dada all the time and has recently picked up night night. She "talks" all the time, loves chasing the dogs and loves riding in her red wagon. She eats like a champ although she does enjoy whatever it is on either my or Jareds plate much more than what is on her own plate, which is usually the same thing now! Oh, and for those of you wondering how she is sleeping, well, sure enough and just like my mom said, 3 days after moving into our new house she started sleeping through the night. So, after 10 long months of getting up 4-5 times a night, it came to an abrupt stop...all she needed was her own room! I also remembered how much I like sleeping through the night! Her hair is coming in slowly but surely...I think she is going for that baby mullet look though, more in the back than in the front and on the sides. Just so you know, I have entered Savannah into a baby model competition to be the Children's Place next model. If you could go to this website http://childrensplace.promo.eprize.com/model/:b=safari/gallery and enter Savannah's Entry ID 401326 you can vote for her too! We surely do appreciate it and of course we think she is a shoe-in to win but she still needs those votes! Enjoy the pictures!
